Welcome To Birding In Denmark |

|
Denmark with its 483 islands and a total shoreline of 4,625 miles has the great advantage that most of it is easily accessible. Though predominantly an agricultural country with at least 3/4 under cultivation, you will still find varied landscapes and habitats. However it is the migration localities and wintering areas for large numbers of waders and wildfowl that will be of most interest for the visiting birder. Areas like the Vadehavet Bird Reserve on the Danish—German border or the raptor watchpoint at Stiganæs on the southern tip of Zeeland are just two examples. However it is the west coast of Jutland that provides some of the best birding Denmark has to offer with such localities as Skagen being recognized as one of Denmark’s leading sites. |

Male Common Rosefinch is a stunner of a bird, while though Tawny Pipit is drab in comparison - it is still as exciting |
